Internet Marketing Basics: Just Like Learning To Ride A Bike, Except Its A Complicated Computer Bike

Raise your hand if you want to make money online

You FINALLY decided to see what all this make money online stuff is about, eh?

Good choice, newbie. Once you’re able to wrap your mind around some simple techniques, you will be able to APPLY that knowledge to generating income streams through various online methods.

In order for this to make sense though, you need to get, at the very least, a rudimentary internet marketing education.

Read the following explanation very carefully: The faster you implement the basic strategy for internet marketing, the faster you will start making money.

To get started, you need a topic. Pick whatever is interesting to you. If YOU like it, chances are other people do as well.

Remember, you’re not buying lottery tickets here. You’re starting a business. You’re launching a website that you HOPE will influence at least SOME of the people who visit it to pull out their wallets.

Every achievement starts with an idea

Once you’ve picked a topic, its time to make a website. Entire books are devoted to the process, so I won’t go over it here. If you’re doing it yourself, make sure it looks PROFESSIONAL.

If you don’t have or don’t want to invest the time to learn this, pay someone. Why? Its that important.

After you pick a topic, its time to pick something to SELL! Think about it: What products would people want to buy that are related to your topic?

If your topic is dogs, then consider selling dog books, dog pictures, dog calendars, dog houses, special dog food… get creative here.

Have confidence in your sense of creativity, as THAT is going to be your secret weapon. Your success is measured in your ability to creatively market your site.

So using the dog example, you might consider setting up a site that ONLY sells crazy dog outfits. Set yourself apart from the competition and you’ll get noticed. Once you have people on your site, its only a matter of time before some of them buy.

Generating buzz about your topic

And listen, don’t be afraid to be outrageous. If you have to dress up like a dog and pull a CRAZY publicity stunt to get traffic, then do it. Your business will thank you for it.

Once you have a web presence, its time to get the word out. “Traditional” web marketing systems, such as social bookmarking, article marketing and product creation are all effective ways to bring visitors to your site.

However, while using these techniques can be beneficial, I encourage you to use your own creativity to be SPECIAL. You can promote the heck out of your site using the above methods, but remember also to deliver your message with ENTHUSIASM! Get excited about your business.
